HUMILITY

Updated: Aug 31, 2020

“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”   - Ernest Hemingway

Humility is a wonderful quality and it demonstrates a lack of arrogance. It indicates a deeper understanding of the big picture and is defined as a modest or low view of your own importance. Humility is not about being weak, indecisive or a push-over…it is the ultimate demonstration of real strength.

I posted this Hemingway quote a few years ago and it holds an even stronger meaning for me now as we all continue to work together to navigate these unprecedented times.

Simon Property Group Inc. has been exploring with Amazon the possibility of turning some of the property owner’s anchor department stores into Amazon distribution hubs. How ironic would it be that the tech companies replace the exact space once occupied by traditional retailers because they were not quick enough to adapt to the realities of online shopping and technology?  Simon malls have 63 Penney and 11 Sears stores.
