Welcome to Capri! The Capri Elementary School community is located in the northwestern section of the City of Encinitas, serving over 650 kindergarten through sixth grade students. At Capri, we celebrate diversity and equip our students with the skills necessary to connect and contribute to the world around us. At Capri, our students are learning several universal languages that transcend cultures.  Capri offers a Dual Language Immersion Program in Spanish and English, and all students learn the language of music, science, and coding and programming. The school has developed educational programs designed to provide the skills and tools necessary for students to explore their creativity while developing a strong educational base.  Capri students learn to not only be consumers, but are empowered to impact beyond our school walls and to contribute globally.  The dedication of Capri Elementary School’s staff, parents, and community to their students has resulted in the school’s California Distinguished School and Golden Bell Award status. ​

The El Camino Creek Elementary School community is located in the southern section of the city of Carlsbad serves 920 kindergarten through sixth grade students. Flora Vista Elementary

La Costa Heights Elementary

La Costa Heights Elementary School serves 590 students in grades kindergarten through six. Its teachers and staff are dedicated to ensuring the academic success of every student and providing a safe and productive learning experience. La Costa Meadows Elementary

La Costa Meadows Elementary School is in the San Marcos School District. It serves the La Costa Greens development built on the hillsides east of the La Costa Resort North Golf Course between the proposed Alga Norte Park and Alga Road. There are about 880 elementary students at the school.

Ocean Knoll Elementary School

The Ocean Knoll Elementary School community is located in the western section of the City of Encinitas, serving 540 kindergarten through sixth grade students. Ocean Knoll Elementary School is known for doing amazing partnerships within in the community such as their organic garden program (partnered with Jimbo's Grocery) and giving back to the community. Park Dale Lane Elementary

The Park Dale Lane Elementary School community is located in the eastern section of the city of Encinitas and serves over 695 kindergarten through sixth grade students. Park Dale Lane Elementary School is located in the Village Park area of Encinitas and has teachers and staff that are dedicated to ensuring the academic success of every student and providing a safe and productive learning experience. Paul Ecke Central Elementary

The Paul Ecke Central Elementary School is located in the western section of the city of Encinitas. The school used to be divided on two campuses, kindergarten through fourth grade at Paul Ecke Central, and fifth and sixth grade at Pacific View. During the 2004-05 school year, all grades were combined on one campus at Paul Ecke Central Elementary School, and 540 kindergarten through sixth grade students are enrolled. Paul Ecke Central Elementary School teachers and staff are dedicated to ensuring the academic success of every student and providing a safe and productive learning experience. The school has developed educational programs designed to provide the skills and tools necessary for students to explore their creativity while developing a h2 educational base. The dedication of Paul Ecke Central Elementary School’s staff, parents, and community to their students has resulted in the school’s CSBA Golden Bell Award, the Title I Achieving School Award, recognition for Physical Education, the Gallup/Robinson Award, and California Distinguished School status.

 

San Elijo Elementary

San Elijo Elementary School (SEES) is beautifully located in San Elijo Hills, a planned community in southwestern San Marcos. On August 14, 2006 the new site was completed and enrollment began!

Front the school's website:  "San Elijo Elementary School is a unique school as it existed within another school for two years prior to moving to the new campus. Many outstanding programs are already initiated and working successfully. Relationships between staff, students, and parents are formed and a collaborative culture exists. The San Elijo community values education and supports the efforts of the teaching and administrative staff. A result of these close and effective working relationships is a learning community that appreciates the strengths that cultural diversity brings to a school and one that takes pride in continuous academic and socio-emotional growth.

When the school opened in August(2006), the enrollment was projected at 750 students with a teaching staff of 41. Today the school consists of 1,400 students with a teaching staff of 50. The enthusiastic, positive, and creative staff is dedicated to the success of the new school and its students and looks forward to the myriad of tasks required to open a school. A culture of collaboration, hard work, and joy exists at the school. 


Although our school is new, we have accomplished a great deal. The San Elijo community is positive and highly involved. Students are happy, secure, and dedicated to becoming “their best selves.” As the school mascot, the golden eagle, suggests you can SEE us Soar throughout the school day as students and teachers focus on essential language arts standards, foster a love of reading with Accelerated Reader, integrate technology into most content standards, and recognize math achievement with our Soaring Through Math program. Students develop an awareness of positive character traits with a school wide monthly focus on traits such as determination, honesty, and kindness. An emphasis on respect and hard work is readily apparent to all visitors. Our students continue to make steady progress on district summative assessments and our current STAR/API figure is 943. An established process for continued growth ensures that staff, parents, and students will always strive to improve. This positive commitment of the entire learning community will result in the San Elijo Elementary Golden Eagles’ success in the years to come."

 

Solana Santa Fe School | Elementary

Solana Santa Fe provides students with a balanced comprehensive instructional program which models the importance of responsibility and mutual respect and emphasizes equal education opportunities. It is part of the Solana Beach Elementary School District, but serves the western Rancho Santa Fe area. There are about 400 children enrolled at the school.

Oak Crest Middle School

Founded in 1957, Oak Crest Middle School is part of the San Dieguito Union High School District and is located in Southern California between San Diego and Carlsbad. Current enrollment is 985 students.

 

Diegueno Middle School

The Diegueno Middle School was founded in the early 1980′s in Encinitas and is part of the San Dieguito Union High School District.The grades at Digueño Middle School are 7th and 8th and has about 1,200 students enrolled every year. Diegueno has many state-of-the-art pieces of equipment, appliances, and technology.

 

Earl Warren Middle School

Earl Warren Middle is part of the San Dieguito Union High School District and serves 574 students. Earl Warren Middle School is proposing more foreign language courses, innovative math classes, off-campus physical education choices, and an expanded arts and music program to lure students from the more crowded Carmel Valley Middle School.

Torrey Pines High School

Torrey Pines High School is a member of the San Dieguito Union High School District and serves the communities of Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, Solana Beach, and Carmel Valley and opened in 1975. Current enrollment is approximately 2,900 students. The school is a 3-time National Blue Ribbon and California Distinguished School.

 

San Dieguito High School Academy

San Dieguito Academy, originally known as San Dieguito High School is a high school in the San Dieguito Union High School District in Encinitas established in 1936. The Academy is ranked 172 on Newsweek’s 2005 list of the Best High Schools in America. The 2006 San Dieguito Mustang girls volleyball team finished ninth in the State of California CIF Division III playoffs.

 

La Costa Canyon High School

La Costa Canyon High School is one of the high schools in the San Dieguito Union High School District. Located on 88 acres in south Carlsbad. La Costa Canyon opened in September, 1996. The students attending La Costa Canyon live in Encinitas and south Carlsbad. Approximately 3,200 students attend La Costa Canyon High School with a senior class of about 700.

 

Canyon Crest Academy

Canyon Crest Academy is an outstanding learning community located in the North County region of San Diego. Current enrollment is approximately 1880 students in grades 9-12. Admitted students live throughout the San Dieguito Union High School District, which includes Carmel Valley, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe and La Costa. CCA is a public "school of choice" where any student in the district can select the academy and a lottery is held if the number of applications exceeds the available seats. Student success is strongly supported by parents and the community, who partner with school staff to provide educational opportunities for all students.

 

La Jolla Schools

 

Birdrock Elementary

Bird Rock Elementary School, located in the Bird Rock area of La Jolla, has an enrollment of approximately 468 students. In addition to our students and their parents, many neighborhood residents feel a strong sense of connection to the school. Through the Voluntary Enrollment Exchange Program (VEEP), a number students choose to attend Bird Rock, enriching the school’s cultural diversity.

Bird Rock opened in 1951 and is situated on four and a half acres, with an additional half-acre access to a portion of San Diego Parks and Recreation property. There are four permanent buildings and nine bungalows. All permanent buildings have been renovated within the last five years. The school is completely surrounded by fencing to ensure a protected environment. A library and instructional area were completed in fall 2003. The site has several murals and tile displays which have been presented as gifts by fifth-grade classes. The children are proud of these exhibits and return to Bird Rock to view their work.

The community of Bird Rock Elementary School actively supports learning and creates opportunities for academic achievement and personal responsibility for all students through a standards-based curriculum that challenges students to rise to their highest potential through inquiry, discovery, and collaboration. Our staff, students, and parents, with the support of our neighborhood community, strive toward a common goal of academic success and the social and emotional well-being of every student.

Thanks to our quality academic program, Bird Rock students are high-achieving. Our STAR results place us among the District’s top-performing elementary schools. Teacher collaboration and strong parent dedication to education contribute to our success.

All students are offered a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on literacy, mathematics and science. Teachers set high expectations, use multiple measures of assessment and take responsibility for student performance. Our grade-level teachers meet weekly to plan and assess student work.

 

La Jolla Elementary

In 1896, under the watchful eyes of Miss Mary Cogswell, twelve excited children climbed the steps of a livery stable located at Wall Street and Herschel Avenue and became the first students to attend La Jolla Elementary School.  La Jolla Elementary School has enjoyed a rich and diverse history in the Village of La Jolla for more than 100 years. From its modest beginnings on the second floor of a livery stable, to its present location on Girard Avenue this school has thrived through generous community support and participation.

 

Muirlands Middle School

La Jolla High School

From the school website:  "La Jolla High School (LJHS) is a comprehensive high school for grades 9–12 located in La Jolla, a community within the city limits of San Diego . LJHS is the nucleus of the community and provides leadership for a middle school and three elementary schools. LJHS supports approximately 1,650 students from diverse backgrounds by offering a rigorous, coherent, and cohesive core curriculum, as well as Advanced Placement courses in 21 curricular areas and college-credit calculus and political science courses. Additionally, the school provides programs designed to specifically address the special needs of students in Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), English as a Second Language (ESL), and Special Education.

LJHS prides itself on providing a positive, well-ordered climate conducive to learning and has been cited as one of the top high schools in the nation (Newsweek and US News and World Report magazines). La Jolla High is also recognized as a California Distinguished School, and as an Achievement via Individual Determination (AVID) School of Distinction. In addition, LJHS was the first public high school west of the Mississippi to earn a chapter in the Cum Laude Society.Each year approximately 90 percent of graduating seniors enter universities or colleges, with a significant number of students attending Ivy League schools, out-of-state institutions, and the University of California and California State University systems."
